The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.
~ Carl Jung
… struggling with communication in your relationship.
… noticing that the two of you are fighting more frequently than you used to.
… living with your partner and struggling to come to agreements on managing the household.
… struggling to find a balance between being together and having your own separate lives.
… feeling complacent in your relationship.
… having difficulty recovering from infidelity in your relationship.
… struggling to make joint decisions.
… going through a transition (buying a house, recent move, getting married, having children, career changes, etc.) and needing some additional support.
In couples therapy, I focus on uncovering both of your individual patterns and the patterns of the relationship. I then help you to find ways to better manage and work with these patterns within the relationship.
Couples therapy is a little different from my work with individuals in that I’m less concerned about your interactions with me and more focused on your interactions with one another. My job in couples therapy is to mediate and be a guide.
In my work with couples, I draw from the Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Non-Violent Communication.
